(voice test post for 9s, taking him from the end of route b. all prompts are assuming he's in some sort of game and has seen humans before so i can avoid any threads with possible humans all going the same way.)

[ So 9S is in ... a shopping mall. And while those may only be relatively exciting for most humans, to an android like him, it's extra amazing. To the point where he can't hide how interested he is in everything.

And right now, he's peering in at the T-shirts on display in the glass window of a store.

When suddenly his pod speaks up. ]

Analysis: Unit 9S will require human currency for the exchange of goods.

[ Good job, Pod 153, you've stated the obvious. 9S sounds a little annoyed and offended at the implication that he's not aware of that. Of course he's aware of it. ]

I know that. [ Changing the subject a little. ] You think 2B would like one?

[ Because he'll get one for her. Or bring her here. Or anything!! ]

[ ... Of course it is. ]

[ Have you ever seen someone so interested in the night? No, probably not. It's not even a particularly dazzling night — it's just a normal, partly cloudy night. But everything is dark, and the moon is half visible, and you can see some of the stars, and — wow. 9S has never seen what the night looks like on Earth, considering the sun never leaves the sky where he's from. He'd thought that when it was night, it looked like the scenery from the Bunker windows, but — this is a little different. There's the moon up there in one of its phases, and clouds, and not all of the stars are visible.

It just has a different feeling.

So, while looking up at the sky, he gives the order to his pod. ]

Pod, I need you to take a picture of this.

[ It's ... winter?? Or at least very cold — cold enough for the ground to have frozen over. Which, while 9S has read records on this sort of thing, he's never experienced it. It kind of super sucks, actually. It makes it way too hard to move around and if there were machines around here, he'd be totally screwed (he's not a fighter in the first place!!).

So he looks like an idiot trying not to fall on the ice, because he's already experienced it a few times so far and he's not looking to experience it again.

Until it happens. Again. And he's sitting on the ice, totally and completely Not Here for this. Even if it is valuable data, it's annoying. ]

Man, this is such a pain. How did humans live in these sorts of conditions?

[ How does anything live in this? It makes you so vulnerable. ]

[ He's an android so he probably won't have a better sense than her, but he can do his best!! If there's an android for this job, it's probably him. ]

Yonah ... My name's 9S. And I've got plenty of time. I'm a Scanner unit, so I may be able to help if you give me an idea of what he looks like.

[ Going with the logical approach here first ... If he knows what he looks like, he might be able to get some ideas of what might match him and find them easily?? ]

What's a Scanner unit? Does that mean you're good at finding things?

[ 9S is an interesting name. Yonah doesn't think much on it, but more on what a "Scanner" is supposed to be. ]

And Dad wears a mask that covers one eye and he's tall and strong! He has white hair... like mines. And yours!

[ She beams a little, upon noticing the similarity. They all have white hair! Yoko Taro characters... ]

But he gives a nod at that. ] Yeah, pretty much. [ Being good at finding things is a good watered-down explanation of how a Scanner unit works.

But hmm. That's an interesting description there. ]

Hmm. [ So he's her dad, has white hair, and ... 9S is picturing him as some sort of fighter. If he has an eye mask and he's tall and strong. So ... maybe ... He picks up this shirt and shows it to her. ]

Does this seem appropriate?

[ He doesn't know what a "cage fighter" is but it has fighter in the name ...... ]

[ Surprisingly(?), Yonah approves. It's very manly and tells everyone just how strong her Dad is! 9S is great at finding things. Or Yonah is just a child easily pleased by the selection. ]

But what's a cage fighter? Do people really fight in cages?

But uh ... ] Huh. I'm ... not actually sure about that one. [ She's the human, and she doesn't know? Well then this is definitely a mystery. ] The sentence could also be interpreted as someone fighting with a cage, but ... that sounds a lot less likely.

[ So ... people really do fight in cages?? Maybe?? ]
