underworld shenanigans
Dec. 27th, 2018 07:13 pm[ Following being taken by the Heartless, Kairi had awoken somewhere in the Underworld — not that she'd really recognize the place. The true nature of her situation became abundantly clear almost immediately, however, from the way a hooded figure, who'd apparently been watching her sleep (creep), left the room, leaving a wall of off-color flames in his wake, and a flow of Heartless that seemed never-ending.
Any time she'd finish off a wave of Heartless, she'd have only a few moments to breathe before more would slip in. At first, she'd used those moments to look for ways out, but upon realizing the only true "hole" in the room was blocked by flames, and that those flames would in fact burn her (her poor fingers, but she had to try it), she'd run out of ideas. Unfortunately for her, while she's done plenty of training to use her Keyblade, she's still not strong enough to unlock the lock governing those flames.
And it becomes abundantly clear that she has no choice but to keep fighting and hope for a way out to present itself. Which ... after a while, her only spark of hope becomes Sora. He's always come for her, no matter what, and she can't believe this situation to be any different. She keeps fighting — for how long, she hasn't a clue — with him on her mind. Sora ... she'll keep herself alive, for as long as she needs to, until you can get here. She knows you'll come.
Though the Underworld's weakening affect starts to really take its toll, and that against her fatigue from constant fighting really, really takes its toll. To the point where she can't even feel her legs anymore, or really her arms, and she's operating solely through adrenaline — is she even still standing? Her head isn't on the ground, so it seems so, but everything's becoming so blurry that it feels like it could end up on the ground at any moment without warning.
She can't hear, and her vision is like a narrow tunnel, and her arms are only moving on their own until — her Keyblade falls to the ground with a clatter. One that might catch the attention of anyone outside the room, echoing through the flames to the outside, before the sound disappears along with its Keyblade. And her body soon follows, falling to her knees and then wobbling before she's falling to the ground, too. But not before muttering. ]
Sora ... I ...
[ Can't hold out? Am sorry? She's not sure how to end that sentence, but her body doesn't want her to have the energy to, anyway. ]
